about

In 2018 David Jaycock and Andrew Burge played a live version of Jaycock’s concept album’ The Decline of the Mobile Library, at Anthony Burgess House in Manchester.
Raz Ullah captured these recordings as audience room recordings.

Jaycock and Burge then met and recorded a performance of improvisatory material,
again, recording as a single stereo ambient room recording.

Both these recordings were then treated and produced by Andrew.

‘Vol.1 Human Geography’ is the result of both these live performances and feature selections from both recordings, focusing on improvisational elements.
It runs with the initial concept of the ‘Library’ but has developed the idea to incorporate them as architectural and archival structures.

Each volume of limited-run cassettes will reflect different subject matters regarding musical composition and imagery, Vol.1 being ‘Human Geography.’
