about

Jaycock/Burge continue their Library subject-themed recordings with Vol.2 Natural History. Limited to 40 cassettes and coming in at around 50 mins, this is a synth-heavy and often melodic journey through this vast, mind-expanding subject.
Vol.2 Sees the pair brimming with ideas, their strengths combining to create an expansive, heavy and often melancholic record. Cinematic, long scale, noise, ambient sound-scapes and lush bubbling bass guitars unravel to reveal and uncover melodic interludes and unexpected, harmonic turns.
The guitar and bass synths used in Vol.1 have been augmented with DX7 and Yamaha CS10 and other analogue and digital synthesisers, and they combine with an overarching sound production that knits everything together.
Although the foundations are mostly Improvised, many sonic layers have been composed and processed.
